According to the MBTA:



Stoughton Line Track Work

Starting Monday, September 26
Beginning Monday, September 26, 2005, a project to replace 6,000 ties will start on the Stoughton Line. The work will affect service between Stoughton and Canton Center and is expected to last until October 31, 2005.

The tie replacement will be done Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:45 AM and 4:15 PM. During these hours customers will be bused between Stoughton and Canton Center. Buses will be boarded in the station parking lots at both stations.

There may be delays of 10 to 15 minutes to Stoughton Line trains during the hours the work is being done.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience you may experience resulting from this track improvement project.

The drinking water in Stoughton may be unsafe for infants, the bostonchannel.com reported on Tuesday April 26, 2005. Nitrates from lawn or garden fertilizer may have gotten into a town well.
