Phil Dunkelbarger, who will be a candidate in the Democratic party primary against incumbent Stephen Lynch for the Massachusetts 9th Congressional District seat, was at the Canton Center station this morning to greet commuters.
Dunkelbarger's flyer says: "On the 'Stay the Course,' Iraq War vote, of the MA delegation, only Lynch voted with the Republicans. On reconnecting TerrySchiavo's feeding tubes, only Lynch voted with Tom Delay and Geo. W. Bush. He voted Republican, to give control ot he Internet to the telecom. corporations, instead of keeping it free to all."

There was major disruption on the commuter rail to Canton last night, but there is strangely nothing about it in any of the news media that I can find this morning. I was on the Stoughton-bound train that left South Station last night at 6:30. When we got to Readville, we sat there for at least a half hour. The driver announced that there was something wrong with the track somewhere up ahead, whatever that means. I got off at Readville and eventually got home by a roundabout route involving two buses and a taxi. When I happened to drive by Canton Junction around 9:30 p.m. I saw policemen and evidence of unusual activity. This morning there was yellow police tape here and there at Canton Junction, apparently serving no purpose but creating a minor inconvenience and hazard. Some of the tape was only a foot off the ground at the top of a staircase. Obvious stupidity and laziness on the part of somebody. A fellow passenger told me that a person had been walking on the tracks last night and was hit by a train.
